[Abstract]:At the 254th National meeting of the American Chemical Society, researchers at Harvard Medical School said they found microbes in the bodies of top runners and rowers that might improve their final performance. Scientists have previously found that during intense exercise, athletes produce more lactic acid than usual, which breaks down and helps relieve muscle fatigue and soreness. It is well known that bacteria in the gut help us break down carbohydrates, proteins and fibers, and are linked to inflammation and nerve function, so scientists believe that microbes are related to athletes' endurance, muscle recovery or mental resilience. To identify bacteria that improve exercise performance, researchers extracted 20 participants in the 2015 Boston Marathon
