【摘要】：作為當代南非著名小說家,J.M.庫切在兩次摘取布克文學獎桂冠后,又于2003年獲得世界諾貝爾文學獎。庫切的作品主題多樣,寫作形式亦是不拘一格。2009年,庫切的最新小說《夏日》得以出版問世。作家運用獨具一格的“他傳”寫作手法講述了主人公約翰·庫切在20世紀70年代的生活,引起國內(nèi)外評論界的廣泛關(guān)注,成為眾多學者關(guān)注的焦點。然而,鮮有評論家就小說《夏日》中的他傳書寫加以研究,因此,本文將重點分析庫切的最新作品《夏日》,對小說中“他傳”觀念的含義、成因和表現(xiàn)形式、他傳書寫的實驗性特征以及他傳書寫的倫理指涉等方面進行詳細系統(tǒng)地探討。本研究認為,庫切打破傳統(tǒng)的自傳寫作模式,開創(chuàng)了自己獨特的“他傳”概念。庫切“他傳”書寫的獨特之處充分體現(xiàn)在其實驗性上。通過虛構(gòu)與真實的結(jié)合,他探究真相的意義所在;通過多角度敘事,他模糊了傳主的身份從而更客觀的呈現(xiàn)自我;通過運用諸如空白、拼貼等創(chuàng)新的方式,他召喚讀者參與庫切的形象構(gòu)建;這些獨特的設(shè)計讓庫切的他傳觀念躍然紙上。庫切通過第三人稱敘事視角、時態(tài)的變換、片段式描寫等多種手法,把過去的自我當作客體來研究,呈現(xiàn)出對真相的重新思考,對自我的客觀審視,以及對南非社會現(xiàn)實的深刻揭露。
