【摘要】：辛克萊劉易斯是20世紀美國最偉大的現(xiàn)實主義作家之一，他是美國第一個摘得諾貝爾獎的作家。《大街》是劉易斯成名的開端,它讓劉易斯在當時被國內(nèi)外的讀者熟知。這部小說描寫的是一個小城鎮(zhèn)的生活，女主人公卡羅爾米爾福德是一個懷抱理想主義的年輕姑娘，她嫁給了一個鄉(xiāng)村醫(yī)生并在一個叫戈鎮(zhèn)的小鎮(zhèn)住了下來�？_爾處在追求自己進行社會變革的夢想和個人幸福的兩難之中，她的困境折射出一個國家徘徊在新潮的混雜文化和傳統(tǒng)的偏狹之間。本篇論文旨在從女性主義的角度重新解讀卡羅爾這個人物形象。依據(jù)波伏娃的女性主義理論，，本文作者試圖解析卡羅爾的性格特征�？_爾顛覆了傳統(tǒng)弱小的女性形象，在她身上我們可以看到寶貴的反叛精神�？_爾勇于質(zhì)疑男權(quán)社會以及挑戰(zhàn)當時的主流文化。本文也試圖分析卡羅爾身上的弱點，她在追夢過程中遇到的挫折，以及最終夢想幻滅的原因。本論文分為六個部分。第一章是對劉易斯和《大街》這部作品的簡介以及文獻綜述。第二章介紹了波伏娃的女性主義思想以及她的著作《第二性》。第三章分析了卡羅爾對傳統(tǒng)順從女性形象的顛覆。通過上下文分析以及和其他女性角色的對比，可以看出卡羅爾擁有很強的獨立個性和自我意識。接著第四章展開分析卡羅爾對當時父權(quán)社會和等級社會的抗爭。在第五章本文討論了卡羅爾性格的弱點和她在追夢過程中遇到的困難，這些也是導致她夢想幻滅的原因。第六章是結(jié)論部分。
[Abstract]:Sinclair Lewis was one of the greatest American realistic writers in the 20th century, and he was the first American writer to win the Nobel Prize. The novel is about the life of a small town. Carol Milford, the heroine, is an idealistic young girl who marries a country doctor and lives in a small town called Goe. Carol is in the dilemma of pursuing her dream of social change and her personal happiness. Her dilemma reflects that a country hovers between the new mixed culture and the traditional intolerance. The purpose of this thesis is to reinterpret Carol as a character from the perspective of feminism. Based on Bovova's feminist theory, the author tries to analyze Carroll's character. Carol subverts the traditional image of weak women, and we can see valuable rebellious spirit in her. Carol challenged the patriarchal society and challenged the prevailing culture. This paper also attempts to analyze Carroll's weaknesses, her setbacks in pursuing her dreams, and the causes of the disillusionment of her dreams. This paper is divided into six parts. The first chapter is a brief introduction and literature review of Lewis and main Street. The second chapter introduces Beauvova's feminist thought and her work second sex. Chapter three analyzes Carroll's subversion of traditional submissive female image. Through contextual analysis and comparison with other female characters, Carol has a strong independent personality and self-consciousness. Then the fourth chapter analyzes Carroll's resistance to patriarchal and hierarchical society at that time. In Chapter 5, we discuss Carroll's weakness and difficulties in pursuing her dreams, which are the reasons for her disillusionment. Chapter six is the conclusion.
