新歷史主義代表人物斯蒂芬·格林布拉特主張將歷史考察帶入文學(xué)研究,強(qiáng)調(diào)文學(xué)與文化之間的聯(lián)系,認(rèn)為文學(xué)是文化的產(chǎn)物,文學(xué)隸屬于大的文化網(wǎng)絡(luò),文學(xué)研究應(yīng)該納入歷史文化語(yǔ)境進(jìn)行考察。新歷史主義也是一種重新解讀歷史與文學(xué)之間關(guān)系的歷史詩(shī)學(xué)。它以“文本的歷史性”和“歷史的文本性”作為其批評(píng)實(shí)踐的主要立足點(diǎn)�！皻v史的文本性”指人們只有通過(guò)源自選擇性保護(hù)和涂抹的文本才能接近一個(gè)物質(zhì)性的歷史存在。而當(dāng)文本轉(zhuǎn)化為檔案時(shí),它們自身也充當(dāng)后人的闡釋媒介。歷史在文本中留下自己的鏡像,而歷史事實(shí)只有通過(guò)經(jīng)過(guò)權(quán)力挑選和抹除而保存下來(lái)的文本才能得到表述�！拔谋镜臍v史性”指的是所有的書(shū)寫(xiě)和閱讀形式,包括文學(xué)文本,非文學(xué)文本乃至社會(huì)大文本的歷史具體性與物質(zhì)性。文本并非是一個(gè)超歷史的審美客體,而是特定時(shí)代的歷史、階級(jí)、權(quán)力以及文化語(yǔ)境的產(chǎn)物。文本解讀只有在納入到具體的歷史語(yǔ)境之中時(shí)才能顯現(xiàn)其真正意義。文本是彰顯歷史意義的存在體,甚至就是構(gòu)成歷史不可缺少的一部分。文本本身就是一種歷史文化事件。文本與歷史一樣都具有詩(shī)性的深層結(jié)構(gòu),都充滿(mǎn)想象性與虛構(gòu)性（汪民安403）。新歷史主義獨(dú)特的文化策略和廣闊的理論視野為解讀菲利普·羅思后...
