從語篇體裁的社會(huì)目的看戲劇翻譯策略的選擇 ——以《陰道獨(dú)白》的兩個(gè)中譯本為例

  就戲劇翻譯而言,以往相當(dāng)長的時(shí)間內(nèi),人們一直把注意力放在戲劇的雙重屬性上,即“可讀性”和“可演性”,同時(shí)也把戲劇屬性作為翻譯質(zhì)量的評估標(biāo)準(zhǔn),但戲劇翻譯理論家似乎并沒有追溯到戲劇的語篇體裁問題。根據(jù)Martin(2004/2006:505),語篇體裁是有目的的、分階段的社會(huì)過程。因此,戲劇,作為一種語篇體裁,也是通過社會(huì)目的來定義的。評估翻譯也應(yīng)該從語篇體裁的社會(huì)目的出發(fā)。本研究通過分析《陰道獨(dú)白》兩個(gè)中譯本,探討了譯者如何選擇翻譯策略,最終使原語文本和目的語文本達(dá)到語篇體裁社會(huì)目的的對等。戲劇的社會(huì)目的在于娛樂觀眾。因此,觀眾在社會(huì)目的實(shí)現(xiàn)上起著非常重要的作用,翻譯策略的選擇首先必須要考慮到觀眾的接受。這就在宏觀上要求譯者采取增刪策略,對原語文本的語料做出選擇;但不同的譯者選取不同的語料,本文將會(huì)分析兩位譯者為了達(dá)到戲劇社會(huì)目的的對等是怎樣對原語文本材料做出選擇的。語篇體裁通過語域?qū)崿F(xiàn)。語域是位于語篇體裁之下的一個(gè)層面,由三個(gè)變量組成:語義場(Field),語旨(Tenor)和語式(Mode)三個(gè)變量構(gòu)成,每個(gè)變量與一種語言元功能相聯(lián)系。語義場與概念功能緊密相連,通過詞匯—語法層的及物...
