【摘要】：二十世紀(jì)七十年代,一個嶄新的翻譯研究流派開始登上歷史舞臺：翻譯研究學(xué)派。與傳統(tǒng)的翻譯研究學(xué)派別將研究焦點置于詞匯、短語、句子、頂多就是篇章層面不同,翻譯研究學(xué)派提倡將翻譯研究置于更為廣闊的文化語境中來進行考查。翻譯研究學(xué)派的另一個特征是它突破了傳統(tǒng)翻譯研究派別所使用的規(guī)范化、標(biāo)準(zhǔn)式的研究方法,轉(zhuǎn)而采用描述性的比較研究方法對于譯作進行實證研究。 安德烈·勒菲弗爾是翻譯研究學(xué)派最為著名的代表人物之一。勒菲弗爾以他的“改寫論”聞名于世。他認(rèn)為翻譯是對原作的改寫,不管改寫(翻譯)的目的是什么,改寫(翻譯)都反映了一定的意識形態(tài)和詩學(xué),并且是在贊助人的支持下完成的,同時改寫也會在一個特定的社會里以一種特定的方式來操縱文學(xué)所發(fā)揮的作用。勒菲弗爾關(guān)心的是他的“改寫論”里面的三要素：意識形態(tài)、詩學(xué)和贊助人施加在譯者身上的影響。傳統(tǒng)的翻譯研究致力于比較譯本間的優(yōu)劣,致力于探討一個特定的表達是否得到了“正確”的翻譯。與此不同,勒菲弗爾的“改寫論”著重研究為什么譯者選擇的是這個原文文本而不是其他的原文文本來進行翻譯,為什么譯者采取的是該種翻譯策略,以及為什么譯者最終會呈現(xiàn)出這樣一個譯本,勒菲弗爾的“改寫論”所提供的這些視角為翻譯研究開辟了一片新天地。 作為“五四運動”后用白話文寫作的第一部文學(xué)作品,《阿Q正傳》是被譽為“中國現(xiàn)代文學(xué)之父”的魯迅先生的唯一一部中篇小說,同時也是魯迅先生所創(chuàng)作的最為著名的作品之一。此外,“精神勝利法”、“阿Q精神”這兩個從該部作品中派生出來的詞語至今仍然頻繁出現(xiàn)在中國人的日常生活中。 本文擬采用安德烈·勒菲弗爾的“改寫論”對《阿Q正傳》眾多英文譯本中的兩個譯本進行研究。這兩個作為案例文本的譯本分別是：威廉·萊爾的譯本和朱莉婭·拉弗兒的譯本。萊爾在美國是魯迅研究的領(lǐng)頭人物,他自稱是第一個將魯迅先生的全部小說翻譯成地道美式英語的人。拉弗兒的譯本是有關(guān)魯迅作品最新的翻譯；由于她是第一個將魯迅先生的三部小說集都完整翻譯出來的外國譯者,她的譯本也被認(rèn)為是最為全面的一個版本。 通過對于《阿Q正傳》這兩個英譯本的描述性實證式的對比分析,本文作者論證了安德烈·勒菲弗爾“改寫論”中的三要素的確以某種方式操縱著譯者的翻譯策略,并且這三要素施加在譯者身上的影響并不是各自孤立的,而是相互關(guān)聯(lián)的。
