論大眾文化的平民意識(shí)

【摘要】: 近年來(lái),中國(guó)的大眾文化研究取得了許多階段性的研究成果,人們對(duì)大眾文化也逐漸從誤解走向理解,不僅承認(rèn)了現(xiàn)階段中國(guó)文化格局的多樣化發(fā)展趨勢(shì),而且漸次采用新的判斷標(biāo)準(zhǔn)來(lái)評(píng)價(jià)大眾文化,認(rèn)識(shí)到大眾文化具有與傳統(tǒng)截然不同的價(jià)值和意義?墒,這種價(jià)值和意義究竟是什么,目前學(xué)術(shù)界還沒(méi)有明確的定論,這也是當(dāng)前大眾文化研究中一個(gè)有待深化的話題。圍繞這個(gè)話題,本文從分析大眾文化研究的理論資源和現(xiàn)階段中國(guó)社會(huì)的大眾文化現(xiàn)象入手,提出平民意識(shí)是大眾文化最根本的意識(shí)形態(tài)屬性,并對(duì)之進(jìn)行了多層次多角度的分析和評(píng)述。 本文主要從三個(gè)方面展開(kāi)論述: 首先,對(duì)大眾文化的平民意識(shí)屬性進(jìn)行總體性的論述。其一,分析已有的大眾文化理論,指出諸種理論資源對(duì)大眾文化平民意識(shí)屬性的遮蔽或啟發(fā):①中國(guó)新文學(xué)運(yùn)動(dòng)對(duì)鴛鴦蝴蝶派小說(shuō)和新武俠小說(shuō)的批評(píng),在一定程度上壓制了現(xiàn)代通俗文學(xué)的商品性特征和世俗價(jià)值內(nèi)涵,并從傳統(tǒng)文化心理上影響了中國(guó)學(xué)人的早期大眾文化研究,使他們遲遲不能以正確的心態(tài)來(lái)認(rèn)識(shí)大眾文化的平民意識(shí)屬性。②法蘭克福學(xué)派的大眾文化批判理論有其特定的社會(huì)文化背景,并不適用于中國(guó)現(xiàn)階段的大眾文化研究。在中國(guó)現(xiàn)實(shí)社會(huì)的文化構(gòu)成中,大眾文化的主要功能不再是宣傳統(tǒng)治階級(jí)的意識(shí)形態(tài),而是近距離地表達(dá)大眾的世俗欲求。③英美文化唯物主義吸收并發(fā)揮了葛蘭西的“文化霸權(quán)”理論,強(qiáng)調(diào)消費(fèi)者在大眾文化活動(dòng)中能“自下而上”地行使自己的權(quán)力。這為我們論述大眾文化的平民意識(shí)提供了理論依據(jù),但中國(guó)大眾文化的平民意識(shí)內(nèi)涵又顯然不同于英美文化唯物主義所宣揚(yáng)的大眾的反抗性解讀。其二,,對(duì)當(dāng)代中國(guó)社會(huì)中大眾文化的產(chǎn)生和發(fā)展進(jìn)行描述,指出二十世紀(jì)九十年代以來(lái),大眾的平民意識(shí)日益勃興,越來(lái)越重視物質(zhì)消費(fèi)和當(dāng)下的、世俗的現(xiàn)實(shí)生活。相應(yīng)地,大眾文化也開(kāi)始把平民意識(shí)當(dāng)作決定自己存在和發(fā)展方向的主線。其三,根據(jù)大眾文化現(xiàn)象自身的性質(zhì)和不同的接受群體,把大眾文化區(qū)分為市民階層的大眾文化、中產(chǎn)階層的大眾文化、青少年大眾文化和城市流動(dòng)人口的大眾文化等幾個(gè)類型,不同的大眾文化類型中平民意識(shí)的表現(xiàn)程度和形式也各不相同。 /這包人 碩士學(xué)位論文 W MASThR’S THESIS 第二,分析大眾文化的三種特征,揭示平民意識(shí)在大眾文化中的具體內(nèi)涵 和決定性作用:①大眾文化具有世俗性特征,它用世俗的物質(zhì)生活消解神圣的 精神啟蒙,用細(xì)小的現(xiàn)實(shí)人生取代遙遠(yuǎn)的烏托邦理想,宣揚(yáng)個(gè)體生命中的世俗 人文主義關(guān)懷。這正是平民意識(shí)最貼切的一種表現(xiàn)形式。②大眾文化的娛樂(lè)性 一方面用純粹的娛樂(lè)來(lái)消除現(xiàn)代人日常生活中的緊張和疲憊,另一方面也忠實(shí) 地遵循著平民意識(shí)的原則,關(guān)注并表現(xiàn)大眾在現(xiàn)實(shí)日常生活中的真實(shí)情感。③ 商品性一直是大眾文化遭受批判的特征之一,但若用平民意識(shí)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)來(lái)看,商 品性恰恰在無(wú)意識(shí)中實(shí)現(xiàn)了消費(fèi)者的主動(dòng)性權(quán)力:只有那些充分體現(xiàn)平民意 識(shí)、滿足大眾不斷變動(dòng)的世俗欲求、為大眾提供多種個(gè)性化理解的可能性的大 眾文化產(chǎn)品,才能獲取更多的商業(yè)利益。 第三,對(duì)大眾文化的平民意識(shí)屬性進(jìn)行反思。先是分析中產(chǎn)階層大眾文化 的平民意識(shí),說(shuō)明不同類型的大眾文化中平民意識(shí)有著不同形式和不同程度的 表現(xiàn);然后對(duì)不同類型大眾文化中平民意識(shí)的價(jià)值內(nèi)涵進(jìn)行分析,具體論述平 民意識(shí)在青少年階層、市民階層和中產(chǎn)階層等社會(huì)群體的日常生活中所占據(jù)的 位置及其所發(fā)揮的作用(包括其負(fù)面影響);最后以對(duì)平民意識(shí)的分析為依據(jù), 評(píng)價(jià)大眾文化在當(dāng)今中國(guó)社會(huì)產(chǎn)生與發(fā)展的正面意義、負(fù)面影響及其走向。
[Abstract]:In recent years, the research of mass culture Chinese has made many achievements, the people of popular culture also gradually from misunderstanding to understand, not only that the development trend of the diversification stage Chinese culture pattern, and gradually adopt new standards to evaluate the popular culture, popular culture has realized with traditional values and different meaning. However, what is the value and significance, at present academia is no clear conclusion, this is also the study of popular culture in a further deepening of the topic. Around this topic, this article from the mass culture theory of resource analysis in the study of mass culture and the present stage of Chinese society, put forward the civilian consciousness is the most fundamental ideology of mass culture, and carried on the analysis and review of multi-level and multi angle.
This article mainly discusses from three aspects.
First of all, makes a general discussion of civilian consciousness. First, the analysis of the existing theory of popular culture, points out the theoretical resources of mass culture and civilian consciousness: China shelter or inspired new literary movement in the school of mandarin duck and butterfly novels and New Chivalry Fiction Criticism, to a certain extent suppressed the commodity characteristics of the modern popular literature and secular value connotation, from the traditional culture and psychological influence of mass culture on early Chinese people, so that they can not in the right frame of mind to understand the popular culture of the civilian consciousness of property. The Frankfurt school critical theory of mass culture has its specific social and cultural background, research mass culture does not apply to China at the present stage. In China social culture structure, the main function of mass culture is no longer the propaganda ideology of the ruling class , but to express the popular secular desire. The Anglo American cultural materialism absorbed and play Gramsci's "cultural hegemony" theory, emphasizing the "bottom-up" consumers can exercise their power in the activities of mass culture. It provides a theoretical basis for our discussion of civilian consciousness of mass culture, but the connotation of civilian consciousness Chinese mass culture is different from the common cultural materialism advocated by the public against interpretation.
