【摘要】：《在西方的眼睛下》是康拉德的三部政治小說之一。主人公拉祖莫夫是俄羅斯圣彼得堡大學(xué)的學(xué)生。他不善外交,專心學(xué)習(xí),不想卷入革命活動。一次偶然的事件卻讓他身陷政治漩渦,由此開始了他復(fù)雜的生活之路和心路歷程。小說問世后,受到了批評界的廣泛關(guān)注,而焦點主要在如下幾個方面:政治與人性、忠誠與背叛、存在與虛無、語言與敘事。本文則試圖對批評家們論述不夠詳盡的兩個問題作進一步的闡釋:一是人何以存在,一是詞語的力量。這是該小說探討的獨特性,又是小說探討的普遍問題。
[Abstract]:Under the eyes of the West is one of Conrad's three political novels. The protagonist, Razumov, is a student at the University of St. Petersburg, Russia. He was not good at diplomacy, devoted to his studies, and did not want to be involved in revolutionary activities. An accidental event led him into a political whirlpool, which led to his complicated life and mental journey. After the publication of the novel, it has received wide attention from the critics, and the focus is mainly on the following aspects: politics and humanity, loyalty and betrayal, existence and nothingness, language and narration. This paper attempts to give a further explanation of two problems that critics have not discussed in detail: one is why man exists, the other is the power of words. This is the uniqueness of the novel and a common problem.
