含混—《磨礪》的解構(gòu)主義解讀

【摘要】:提到現(xiàn)當(dāng)代英國(guó)文學(xué),以小說(shuō)家,文學(xué)評(píng)論家,傳記文學(xué)家等多重身份而蜚聲英國(guó)文壇的瑪格麗特·德拉布爾是不容錯(cuò)過(guò)的一個(gè)重要人物。她對(duì)人類,尤其是其同時(shí)代的婦女的生存狀態(tài)有著深刻的關(guān)懷。因此,不管是她的早期含有大量自我指涉現(xiàn)象的《夏日鳥(niǎo)籠》,《加里克年》,《磨礪》等作品,還是以《冰封歲月》的發(fā)表為標(biāo)志的那些把其關(guān)注視線從家庭生活擴(kuò)大到社會(huì)問(wèn)題的后期作品,我們總能在她的作品中找到其明確的道德關(guān)懷。她的第三部作品,《磨礪》使瑪格麗特·德拉布爾幾乎成為英國(guó)一個(gè)家喻戶曉的名字,她也因?yàn)檫@部作品獲得了詹姆斯·泰特·布萊克紀(jì)念獎(jiǎng),并且該作品在美國(guó)還被改變成電影《愛(ài)情曾來(lái)過(guò)》。《磨礪》主要講述一位年輕的英語(yǔ)專業(yè)博士研究生羅莎蒙德在撰寫她的博士論文的時(shí)候卻意外懷孕,因此而面臨著事業(yè)與小孩;理想與現(xiàn)實(shí);覺(jué)醒的女性意識(shí)與傳統(tǒng)婦女角色之間的種種困惑。毋庸置疑的是,小說(shuō)中描寫到的女主人公的各種困惑實(shí)則跟德拉布爾剛剛跨出象牙塔步入一個(gè)與其理想有著強(qiáng)烈反差現(xiàn)實(shí)社會(huì)之時(shí)所面臨的各種問(wèn)題大同小異。從更廣泛的意義上講,她們所處的兩難境地是廣大現(xiàn)代知識(shí)女性所共有的。因此,在德拉布爾的早期小說(shuō)中,她總是在努力尋找一條出路,,一條能夠使知識(shí)女性走出困境的出路。細(xì)讀《磨礪》,我們可以發(fā)現(xiàn)作者努力構(gòu)建的主題意義:在內(nèi)容上,作者試圖證明,知識(shí)女性只要欣然接受自己的母性本能就能找到一條自我拯救的道路;在形式上,她認(rèn)為現(xiàn)當(dāng)代作家應(yīng)該追隨現(xiàn)實(shí)主義傳統(tǒng),而不是后現(xiàn)代主義的寫作方法。然而,建構(gòu)小說(shuō)的全部意義所依賴的兩對(duì)二元對(duì)立:道德/非道德;傳統(tǒng)/實(shí)驗(yàn),是不穩(wěn)定的。因?yàn)樾≌f(shuō)中大量的含混因素足以使小說(shuō)主題意義自我解構(gòu)。這些含混首先體現(xiàn)在作者對(duì)小說(shuō)主人公的人物塑造上,羅莎蒙德是作者對(duì)現(xiàn)代知識(shí)女性道德關(guān)懷的代言人,然而她在小說(shuō)中的許多觀念與行為都與英國(guó)主流道德、價(jià)值觀不相符,所以作者難以說(shuō)服讀者其所謂的“道德關(guān)懷”;其次,作者在小說(shuō)中運(yùn)用了許多后現(xiàn)代小說(shuō)的表現(xiàn)技巧,如自反性,不可靠敘事以及悖論等,這樣的處理方法也與作者試圖構(gòu)建的現(xiàn)實(shí)主義傳統(tǒng)衛(wèi)士的身份不相符合?偟膩(lái)說(shuō),德拉布爾本身對(duì)其在小說(shuō)中倡導(dǎo)的人生,藝術(shù)策略持含混態(tài)度,她努力構(gòu)建的主題意義也不攻自破。 本文由三部分構(gòu)成,前言,主體和結(jié)論。 前言部分包括對(duì)《磨礪》的文獻(xiàn)綜述和其作者瑪格麗特·德拉布爾的簡(jiǎn)要介紹,以便導(dǎo)入論文的主體部分。 主體部分包括三章:第一章的中心論點(diǎn)是德拉布爾是一位嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)牡赖录遥偸顷P(guān)心女性知識(shí)分子的處境問(wèn)題并且試圖說(shuō)服讀者母性意識(shí)回歸是女性走出困境的出路。第二章主要通過(guò)細(xì)讀法來(lái)把德拉布爾努力構(gòu)建的另外一層文本意義展現(xiàn)給讀者:比起后現(xiàn)代主義的創(chuàng)作方法,現(xiàn)實(shí)主義的文學(xué)傳統(tǒng)才是更值得推薦的小說(shuō)創(chuàng)作方式。第三章指出了小說(shuō)中與德拉布爾試圖構(gòu)建的兩層文本意義想矛盾的種種細(xì)節(jié),從而解構(gòu)小說(shuō)作者的“主題意義”。另外,論文揭示出在解構(gòu)背后暗藏的小說(shuō)的意義。 論文的結(jié)尾部分簡(jiǎn)要重申本文觀點(diǎn)。
[Abstract]:Margaret Drabble, who is well-known as a novelist, literary critic and biographer in modern and contemporary English literature, is an important figure who can not be missed. She has a deep concern for the living conditions of human beings, especially women of her own time. Therefore, her early life contains a great deal of self-interest. I refer to phenomenal works like "Summer Bird's Cage", "Garrick's Year", "Grinding" or later works that extend their attention from family life to social problems marked by the publication of "Frozen Years". Her third work, "Grinding" has enabled Margaret De to find a clear moral concern in her work. Ramble became almost a household name in Britain, and she won the James Tate Blake Memorial Award for her work, which was transformed into a film in the United States called Love Has Been There. Unexpected pregnancies, therefore, confront career and children; ideals and realities; awakened female consciousness and confusion between traditional women's roles. In a broader sense, their dilemma is shared by the vast majority of modern intellectual women. Therefore, in Drabble's early novels, she is always trying to find a way out, a way out of the predicament of intellectual women. The thematic significance of the author's endeavor: in content, the author tries to prove that intellectualized women can find a way of self-salvation as long as they accept their maternal instincts; in form, she believes that modern and contemporary writers should follow the realist tradition rather than the post-modernist writing method. However, the construction of the whole novel. Two pairs of binary opposition on which meaning depends: moral/immoral; tradition/experimentation, which is unstable. Because there are so many ambiguous factors in the novel that the theme of the novel can deconstruct itself. However, many of her concepts and behaviors in the novel are inconsistent with the mainstream morality and values in Britain, so it is difficult for the author to convince the readers of her so-called "moral concern"; secondly, the author uses many post-modern novel performance techniques, such as reflexivity, unreliable narration and paradox, and so on, such treatment also with the British mainstream morality and values. Generally speaking, Drabble herself has a vague attitude towards the life and artistic strategies she advocates in her novels, and the thematic significance she tries to construct does not break herself.
This article consists of three parts: preface, main body and conclusion.
The preface includes a literature review of Grinding and a brief introduction to its author, Margaret Drabble, for the purpose of introducing the main body of the paper.
The main part consists of three chapters: the central argument of the first chapter is that Drabble is a rigorous moralist who always cares about the situation of female intellectuals and tries to persuade readers that the return of maternal consciousness is the way out for women. The third chapter points out the details of the contradiction between the two levels of textual meaning that Drabble tried to construct in the novel, and thus deconstructs the author's "thematic meaning." In addition, the paper reveals that in the novel the author's "thematic meaning" can be found. Deconstruct the meaning of hidden novels.
The conclusion of this paper briefly reiterates this view.
