【摘要】：作為二十世紀(jì)美國(guó)文學(xué)史上最杰出的作家之一,約翰·斯坦貝克以其獨(dú)特的創(chuàng)作技巧,對(duì)廣大被壓迫者的同情以及對(duì)于人類本性的深刻洞察而聞名。其巔峰之作《憤怒的葡萄》以約德一家為代表,描述了俄克拉荷馬州的農(nóng)民由于嚴(yán)重的干旱以及銀行家的殘酷壓迫,被迫遷移到加利福尼亞州的艱難旅程。作為一部真實(shí)反映二十世紀(jì)三十年代經(jīng)濟(jì)大蕭條時(shí)期美國(guó)勞動(dòng)人民悲慘境遇的小說(shuō),《憤怒的葡萄》對(duì)當(dāng)時(shí)的美國(guó)社會(huì)產(chǎn)生了巨大的影響,它促使美國(guó)人民重新審視自己的歷史并認(rèn)真思考自己在經(jīng)濟(jì)大蕭條時(shí)期的處境。 除了現(xiàn)實(shí)意義之外,《憤怒的葡萄》也具有很高的藝術(shù)價(jià)值,其中象征手法的運(yùn)用作為一個(gè)突出特征貫穿整部小說(shuō)。因此,本文試圖從象征主義角度對(duì)《憤怒的葡萄》進(jìn)行系統(tǒng)和深入的解讀。首先,本文簡(jiǎn)要介紹了約翰·斯坦貝克的生平及其作品并對(duì)《憤怒的葡萄》這部小說(shuō)的歷史背景及主要內(nèi)容進(jìn)行概述。然后,本文指出了該研究的目的、意義及方法。接著,本文總體回顧了國(guó)內(nèi)外關(guān)于這部小說(shuō)的研究現(xiàn)狀并介紹了本研究的理論基礎(chǔ)—有關(guān)象征及象征主義的理論。 之后,本文具體分析了《憤怒的葡萄》中所運(yùn)用的景物象征、場(chǎng)景象征和人物象征以及它們?cè)趥鬟_(dá)小說(shuō)主題中的重要意義。本文指出移民工人從個(gè)人到集體,從麻木、消極到覺(jué)悟、反抗的精神轉(zhuǎn)變之旅是小說(shuō)所要突出的主題。最后,本文得出結(jié)論,在《憤怒的葡萄》這部小說(shuō)中,象征手法的運(yùn)用充滿了高超的藝術(shù)價(jià)值,同時(shí)它在深化主題中也起到了重要的作用。 總體來(lái)說(shuō),通過(guò)運(yùn)用各種極具深層含義的景物象征、場(chǎng)景象征以及人物象征,移民工人的精神轉(zhuǎn)變之旅這一主題得到了突出和強(qiáng)調(diào),進(jìn)而也使得該小說(shuō)的意義更加深刻,影響更加持久。
[Abstract]:John Steinbeck, one of the most outstanding writers in American literary history in the 20th century, is famous for his unique creative skills, sympathy for the oppressed and deep insight into human nature. At its peak, the Grapes of Wrath, represented by the Yordes, describe the difficult journey of Oklahoma farmers forced to migrate to California due to severe drought and the brutal oppression of bankers. As a true reflection of the tragic plight of the American working people during the Great Depression of the 1930s, the Grapes of Wrath had a tremendous impact on American society at that time. It prompted Americans to rethink their history and reflect on their situation during the Great Depression. Besides the practical significance, the Grapes of Wrath is also of high artistic value, in which symbolism is used as a prominent feature throughout the novel. Therefore, this paper tries to analyze the Grapes of Wrath systematically and deeply from the perspective of symbolism. First, this paper briefly introduces John Steinbeck's life and his works, and summarizes the historical background and main contents of the novel Grapes of Wrath. Then, this paper points out the purpose, significance and method of this research. Then, this paper reviews the domestic and international research status of this novel and introduces the theoretical basis of this study-symbolism and symbolism theory. After that, this paper analyzes the scene symbol, scene symbol and character symbol used in the Grapes of Wrath and their significance in conveying the theme of the novel. This paper points out that the spiritual transformation of migrant workers from individual to collective, from numbness, negativity to consciousness and resistance is the main theme of the novel. Finally, the paper concludes that the use of symbolism in the novel Grapes of Wrath is full of superb artistic value and plays an important role in deepening the theme. In general, the theme of the spiritual transition of migrant workers has been highlighted and emphasized by the use of a variety of scene symbols, scene symbols and character symbols with very deep meanings, which in turn makes the novel more profound. The impact is more lasting.
