從與超驗(yàn)主義的對(duì)比看霍桑辯證的世界觀

【摘要】:作為美國(guó)19世紀(jì)文藝復(fù)興時(shí)期最重要的浪漫主義小說(shuō)家之一,霍桑一生筆耕不輟,著作頗豐,創(chuàng)造出了許多具有審美價(jià)值的傳世佳作。他開創(chuàng)了美國(guó)小說(shuō)中富有象征性的浪漫形式,為美國(guó)文學(xué)添上了濃墨重彩的一筆。 霍桑的創(chuàng)作思想與盛行于當(dāng)時(shí)的哲學(xué)思潮--超驗(yàn)主義是分不開的。在與以愛默生為首的超驗(yàn)主義者們的密切接觸的過(guò)程中,霍桑的思想受到了潛移默化的影響。一方面,他的作品中所表現(xiàn)出來(lái)的一些思想觀念,如超靈觀、自然觀、自助觀以及象征主義手法在其創(chuàng)作中的反復(fù)運(yùn)用都體現(xiàn)了超驗(yàn)主義的基本思想內(nèi)涵?雌饋(lái),他似乎是個(gè)超驗(yàn)主義者。但另一方面,他又絕不是個(gè)超驗(yàn)主義者,他沒有全盤吸收超驗(yàn)主義思想,在很多看法上,如人性的善與惡、超越途徑以及人與社會(huì)的關(guān)系問(wèn)題上,霍桑與超驗(yàn)主義者們的見解截然不同。他對(duì)超驗(yàn)主義的人性觀、超越觀持懷疑和否定態(tài)度,并深刻批判了備受超驗(yàn)主義推崇的個(gè)人主義.。 在習(xí)慣于用線性思維看問(wèn)題的人看來(lái),他是左右搖擺,含混不清,但通過(guò)深層研究他的作品,我們可以看出他并不含混,他的思想雖出于那個(gè)時(shí)代,卻又遠(yuǎn)勝于那個(gè)時(shí)代。在他那諸多看似“矛盾”“含混”的作品的外衣下,隱藏的卻是—種審慎的辯證的人生態(tài)度。 本文正是從超驗(yàn)主義視角出發(fā),結(jié)合相關(guān)作品和材料,通過(guò)分析對(duì)比霍桑思想與超驗(yàn)主義思想的異同,從而對(duì)霍桑思想進(jìn)行全新的解讀,總結(jié)揭示其辯證的人生觀,以期更全面更深刻的理解霍桑作品。
[Abstract]:As one of the most important Romantic novelists in the American Renaissance in the 19th century, Hawthorne wrote a lot of works and created many outstanding works with aesthetic value.He created a symbolic form of romance in American novels and added a great deal to American literature.Hawthorne's creative thought is inseparable from the prevailing philosophical trend of thought-transcendentalism.In close contact with transcendentalists led by Emerson, Hawthorne's thought was influenced subtly.On the one hand, some ideas expressed in his works, such as super-spiritual view, natural view, self-help view and the repeated use of symbolism in his works, all embody the basic ideological connotation of transcendentalism.It'seems that he is a transcendentalist.But on the other hand, he was by no means a transcendentalist. He did not fully absorb transcendentalism. In many views, such as the good and evil of human nature, the transcendental approach and the relationship between man and society,Hawthorne and transcendentalists have different views.He holds a skeptical and negative attitude towards transcendentalism's view of humanity and transcendence, and deeply criticizes individualism, which is highly respected by transcendentalism.To those who are used to thinking in line, he is swinging from side to side, vague, but through a deep study of his works, we can see that he is not ambiguous, his thoughts, though out of that era, are far better than those of that time.Under the cloak of his many seemingly contradictory and ambiguous works, there is a prudent and dialectical attitude to life.This article is from the transcendentalism angle of view, unifies the related work and the material, through the analysis contrasts the Hawthorne thought and the transcendentalism thought similarities and differences, thus carries on the brand-new interpretation to the Hawthorne thought, summarizes and reveals its dialectical outlook on life.With a view to a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of Hawthorne works.
