【摘要】：《水滸傳》作為中國(guó)四大名著之一，也是中國(guó)第一部白話文小說(shuō)，具有極高的文學(xué)藝術(shù)價(jià)值，它的英譯對(duì)中國(guó)古典文學(xué)在世界的傳播起著至關(guān)重要的作用。稱謂詞，作為語(yǔ)言的一部分，具有文化特殊性，蘊(yùn)含了豐富的文化內(nèi)涵。一些學(xué)者已對(duì)《水滸傳》稱謂詞開(kāi)展了研究，包括社會(huì)稱謂詞、人物綽號(hào)等，但對(duì)其文化內(nèi)涵進(jìn)行研究的較少,對(duì)不同譯者在處理稱謂詞文化意蘊(yùn)采取的不同翻譯策略進(jìn)行比較研究的幾乎沒(méi)有。 德國(guó)功能主義翻譯理論產(chǎn)生于20世紀(jì)70年代，注重文本和文本功能。根據(jù)不同的文本功能和交際目的，諾德提出兩種翻譯類型，即文獻(xiàn)型翻譯和工具型翻譯。本文試圖將功能翻譯理論運(yùn)用于文學(xué)翻譯研究中，選取賽珍珠、杰克遜以及沙博理有關(guān)《水滸傳》的三個(gè)全英譯本作為研究對(duì)象，從翻譯要求、文本功能、交際目的等要素探究三位譯者在處理《水滸傳》稱謂詞文化意蘊(yùn)時(shí)采取不同翻譯策略的動(dòng)因，并分析他們所采取的具體翻譯方法，認(rèn)為賽珍珠采取的是文獻(xiàn)型翻譯策略，杰克遜采用的是工具型翻譯策略，，沙博理則采取以工具型翻譯為主，文獻(xiàn)型翻譯為輔的翻譯策略。 本文分為三章。第一章對(duì)《水滸傳》進(jìn)行原文文本分析，發(fā)現(xiàn)它的主要文本功能為表達(dá)功能，同時(shí)也兼有指稱和呼吁功能。根據(jù)諾德的《翻譯的文本分析模式》，探討了文內(nèi)因素中詞匯這一因素，進(jìn)而分析了《水滸傳》中稱謂詞及其文化蘊(yùn)涵。第二章分析三個(gè)英譯本出現(xiàn)不同文本功能的原因以及三位譯者在稱謂詞文化意蘊(yùn)傳遞上所要達(dá)到的翻譯效果和翻譯目的。賽珍珠為了重現(xiàn)《水滸傳》的原汁原味，體現(xiàn)中國(guó)的語(yǔ)言和文化，譯文以指稱功能為主；杰克遜旨在贊揚(yáng)反抗精神以及為英國(guó)文學(xué)注入新的生機(jī)，譯文強(qiáng)調(diào)呼吁功能；沙博理在外文局的要求下傳播中國(guó)文化，譯文以表達(dá)和指稱功能為主。第三章分析三位譯者在處理稱謂詞文化意蘊(yùn)采取的具體翻譯方法。賽珍珠主要采取直譯和異國(guó)情調(diào)譯法，杰克遜則主要使用意譯和省譯，沙博理主要采用意譯、直譯和對(duì)等譯法來(lái)實(shí)現(xiàn)譯文的文本功能。
