闡釋翻譯理論下《我生活的故事》中譯本對比研究

【摘要】:本文以喬治斯坦納的闡釋翻譯學為理論支點,對《我生活的故事》的兩個中譯本進行研究。文章概述了斯坦納闡釋翻譯理論的三個觀點:理解即是翻譯,語言的可譯性以及翻譯的步驟。觀點一理解即是翻譯是因為語言的產(chǎn)生和理解過程實際上是翻譯的過程。要理解一段話,不但要分析這段話的詞匯和語法,還要聯(lián)系到整個文本以及原作者的創(chuàng)作手法。對語言的可譯性,斯坦納的看法是:不能說任何東西都能翻譯,也不能說任何東西現(xiàn)在都可以翻譯,但無論翻譯有什么不足之處,翻譯仍然不失為世界上各項事務中最重要的、最有價值的一項工作。另外斯坦納將翻譯的過程分為四個步驟,信賴、侵入、吸收和補償。譯者首先要選擇翻譯文本,信賴原語文本是有意義的;然后進入翻譯階段,此時譯者可能會面對來自原文本的敵意和抵抗,要“侵入”原文,進行近乎“暴力”的闡釋和翻譯。在語言轉(zhuǎn)化的過程中,譯者又需要對原語文化進行消化和吸收,以便傳達異域文化的意蘊,再現(xiàn)原作的思想內(nèi)容、審美信息和語言風格。最后,譯者通過補償恢復譯作與原作的平衡。 《我生活的故事》是美國著名女作家海倫凱勒的處女作。這部自傳體講述了作者21歲以前的生活經(jīng)歷。作品一發(fā)表,立即在美國名噪一時,,美國《世紀》雜志的書評上甚至稱這部書是“世界文學上無與倫比的杰作”。這部著作不僅是一流的文學作品,作為教育作品意義更加重大。目前比較權(quán)威的中譯本為數(shù)不多,其中朱原和李漢昭的版本便是其中的佼佼者。本文用斯坦納上述三個觀點對比分析了這兩個譯本,并以大量的實例重點分析了翻譯四步驟在兩個譯本中的體現(xiàn)。兩個譯者的“信任”都源于對原文本的評價和對自身語言文化能力的認識。接著兩譯者在其不同的前理解和宗教意識的作用下侵入原文,實現(xiàn)原文形式和意義的吸收。最后他們利用了各種不同的補償方法來彌補前三個步驟給譯本帶來的不可避免的損失。 通過對兩個譯本的分析,不難發(fā)現(xiàn)朱原和李漢昭的版本各有千秋,都可以讓讀者很好地接近原文作者。
[Abstract]:Based on George Steiner's hermeneutical translation theory, this paper studies the two Chinese versions of the Story of my Life. This paper summarizes three viewpoints of Steiner's theory of translation: understanding is translation, translatability of language and the steps of translation. Point of view understanding is translation because the process of language production and understanding is actually a process of translation. To understand a passage, we must not only analyze the vocabulary and grammar of the passage, but also relate to the whole text and the original author's writing techniques. As for the translatability of language, Steiner's view is that nothing can be translated, and nothing can be translated now, but whatever the inadequacies of translation, translation is still the most important thing in the world. At present, there are few authoritative Chinese versions, among which Zhu Yuan and Li Hanzhao are the best. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the two versions with Steiner's above three viewpoints, and focuses on the four steps of translation in the two versions with a large number of examples. The "trust" of the two translators originates from the evaluation of the original text and the understanding of their own linguistic and cultural abilities. Then the two translators intrude into the original text under the influence of their different understanding and religious consciousness, and realize the absorption of the form and meaning of the original text. Finally, they make use of various compensation methods to compensate for the inevitable loss caused by the first three steps. Through the analysis of the two versions, it is not difficult to find that the versions of Zhu Yuan and Li Hanzhao have their own merits, which can bring readers close to the author of the original.
