看龐德譯中國古典詩歌之假象對等解決策略

【摘要】: 詩歌翻譯的研究,已從最初的譯本靜態(tài)對比,發(fā)展到美學角度傳達的比較。如此,譯者注重傳遞詩歌中的意境,文化美學因素是理所當然的,也出現(xiàn)了很多優(yōu)秀的譯作。但即使原作的美學價值被極大程度上體現(xiàn),傳達,在不同的文化背景,不同審美習慣的標準下,原作的文學精髓及美學價值也未必能輕易被接受。這種現(xiàn)象可借用文體學中的“假象對等”而定義。 由于不同的文化背景,不同的審美習慣,假象對等的現(xiàn)象在詩歌翻譯中是很難避免的。根據(jù)接受美學理論,文學作品本身就具有未定性,讀者是文本意義生成的積極參與者,而詩歌這一獨特的文學表現(xiàn)形式就其未定性來說表現(xiàn)尤甚。在中詩英譯這一領域,埃茲拉·龐德(Ezra Pond)翻譯的中國古典詩歌作品起了很大的推動作用。龐德運用創(chuàng)新手法對中國古典詩歌進行了文化和詩學兼容的創(chuàng)意翻譯。就其表象來看,龐德的翻譯理論和方法并不為廣大學者普遍認同,因其并不符合一般意義上的翻譯標準或原則。但,翻譯活動,尤其是中詩英譯中,假象對等的產(chǎn)生是根源于民族文化差異性,即使譯者盡其所能還原原作形神面貌,也未必為譯入語讀者欣賞。筆者認為,龐德的創(chuàng)新翻譯手法盡管看似天馬行空,不符合一般意義上對譯本忠實的翻譯標準。但龐德的翻譯對這一忠實情結有所質(zhì)疑。某些技巧可積極地令譯者對原文進行某種形式或程度的操控,,打破看似忠實,實難傳達原文精髓的翻譯陳規(guī),可說某種程度上解決中國古典詩歌翻譯中假象對等問題。我們可探求龐德翻譯不求忠實,等值,恰以此為手段解決假象對等的問題。既然假象對等不可避免,則無需模糊雙語間民族文化審美差異性,而應采用更為完善的翻譯技巧,使得原語獨特的文化更好的展現(xiàn)給目的語讀者。 筆者通過分析龐德的中國古典詩歌譯作《華夏集》,提出中詩英譯中假象對等“解決”方案,希望盡可能豐富的翻譯技巧,能使得一語文化特點能更好地被另一語讀者消化吸收。
[Abstract]:The study of poetry translation has developed from static comparison of original versions to aesthetic comparison.Therefore, translators pay attention to convey the artistic conception of poetry, cultural aesthetic factors are natural, and there are many excellent translations.But even if the aesthetic value of the original work is reflected and conveyed to a great extent, under the standards of different cultural background and different aesthetic habits, the literary essence and aesthetic value of the original work may not be easily accepted.This phenomenon can be defined by "false equivalence" in stylistics.Due to different cultural backgrounds, different aesthetic habits, the phenomenon of false equivalence is difficult to avoid in poetry translation.According to the theory of reception aesthetics, literary works themselves are uncertain, and the reader is an active participant in the generation of text meaning, and poetry, a unique form of literary expression, is even more so in terms of its unqualitative nature.In the field of translating Chinese poetry into English, the classical Chinese poems translated by Ezra Pond play a very important role.Pound uses innovative techniques to translate Chinese classical poetry into creative translation that is culturally and poetics compatible.As far as its appearance is concerned, pound's translation theories and methods are not generally accepted by scholars because they do not conform to the general translation standards or principles.However, in translation activities, especially in the translation of Chinese poetry into English, the emergence of false equivalence is rooted in national cultural differences. Even if the translator tries his best to restore the original form and spirit, it may not be appreciated by the target readers.The author believes that pound's innovative translation techniques, though seemingly unthinkable, do not meet the standard of faithful translation in the general sense.But pound's translation questioned the loyalty complex.Some techniques can actively make the translator manipulate the source text in some form or degree, break the seemingly faithful translation stereotype which is difficult to convey the essence of the original text, and to some extent solve the problem of false equivalence in the translation of Chinese classical poetry.We can find out that pound's translation is not faithful and equivalent, which can be used as a means to solve the problem of false equivalence.Since false equivalence is inevitable, there is no need to obscure the aesthetic differences of national culture between the two languages, but more perfect translation techniques should be adopted so that the unique culture of the source language can be better displayed to the target language readers.By analyzing pound's translation of Chinese classical poetry, "Huaxia Collection", the author puts forward the "solution" of false equivalence in the translation of Chinese poetry into English in the hope that the most abundant translation skills can make the cultural characteristics of one language better be absorbed by the readers of another language.
