從哲學(xué)闡釋學(xué)的角度看王紅公的英譯杜甫詩(shī)

【摘要】: 縱觀闡釋學(xué)和翻譯的發(fā)展史,翻譯研究的理論轉(zhuǎn)向與闡釋學(xué)的發(fā)展走向和闡釋重心的轉(zhuǎn)換是密切相關(guān)的。作為理解和闡釋的方法論,傳統(tǒng)闡釋學(xué)認(rèn)為理解的終極目標(biāo)就是追尋文本作者“唯一正確”的原意;而傳統(tǒng)翻譯研究將原文本奉為神圣不可侵犯之物,傳統(tǒng)翻譯標(biāo)準(zhǔn)要求譯者在翻譯中不摻入自己的主觀色彩,不表現(xiàn)自己的個(gè)性,以產(chǎn)生絕對(duì)客觀忠實(shí)的譯文。 20世紀(jì)闡釋學(xué)開始了它的本體論轉(zhuǎn)向。在海德格爾和伽達(dá)默爾看來,理解不是超越讀者個(gè)人具體情境的純粹認(rèn)知活動(dòng),而是讀者從自身的獨(dú)特情境出發(fā)融入其價(jià)值理念之影響的生存活動(dòng)。歷史精神的本質(zhì)不在于對(duì)過去事物的修復(fù),而是在于與現(xiàn)時(shí)態(tài)生命的思維性溝通。這一重要轉(zhuǎn)向所帶來的影響迅速輻射到各個(gè)領(lǐng)域。隨后翻譯研究領(lǐng)域也發(fā)生了重大變革,研究方法逐漸從規(guī)范性轉(zhuǎn)向描述性。這不能不說是受到了現(xiàn)代闡釋學(xué)的啟發(fā)和影響。 本文將以現(xiàn)代闡釋學(xué)中最富影響的哲學(xué)闡釋學(xué)為理論基礎(chǔ),借鑒其若干精義來進(jìn)行翻譯研究。伽達(dá)默爾所提出的“理解的歷史性”、“視界融合”以及“效果歷史”三大哲學(xué)闡釋學(xué)原則對(duì)翻譯研究極具啟示。 本文將從伽達(dá)默爾的哲學(xué)闡釋學(xué)原則出發(fā),研究肯尼斯·雷克斯羅思(王紅公)翻譯的杜甫詩(shī)(1956),著重分析其譯本中杜甫形象的轉(zhuǎn)變。雷克斯羅思譯詩(shī)中大大削弱了原詩(shī)的儒家色彩,著重渲染了杜甫對(duì)于隱逸生活的向往,其譯本中所展現(xiàn)的杜甫更多的是一個(gè)選擇在自然山水中消融忘卻自己的隱士,而非憂國(guó)憂民心系天下的儒家。論文繼而探討導(dǎo)致其轉(zhuǎn)變的深層原因,以及如何從哲學(xué)闡釋學(xué)的角度來看待這一轉(zhuǎn)變。 通過對(duì)雷克斯羅思翻譯的杜甫詩(shī)的研究,本文旨在論證哲學(xué)闡釋學(xué)不僅從理論上給翻譯研究帶來新的啟示,,而且也給譯文與原文的比較提供了新的理論視角。并希望通過本文引起譯界學(xué)者們對(duì)杜甫這位偉大詩(shī)人的翻譯研究的更多關(guān)注以及對(duì)肯尼思·雷克斯羅思這位在英美國(guó)家為中國(guó)古典詩(shī)歌的推介作出了杰出貢獻(xiàn)的翻譯家的興趣。
[Abstract]:Throughout the history of hermeneutics and translation, the theoretical turn of translation studies is closely related to the development trend of hermeneutics and the shift of hermeneutical focus. Traditional hermeneutics holds that the ultimate goal of understanding is to pursue the original intention of the author of the text, while traditional translation studies regard the original text as a sacred and inviolable thing. The traditional translation standard requires the translator not to incorporate his own subjective color into the translation, and not to express his own personality, so as to produce an absolute objective and faithful translation. In 20th century hermeneutics began its ontological shift. In Heidegger's and Gadamer's view, understanding is not a purely cognitive activity that transcends the reader's individual context. The essence of the historical spirit is not the restoration of the past. It's about communicating with the thinking of the present tense life. The impact of this important shift is rapidly radiating into all fields. And then there have been major changes in the field of translation studies. The research method has gradually changed from normative to descriptive, which can not be said to be inspired and influenced by modern hermeneutics. This thesis is based on the most influential philosophical hermeneutics in modern hermeneutics. The three philosophical hermeneutics principles proposed by Gadamer, I. e., the historical of understanding, the fusion of the horizon and the history of effect, have great implications for translation studies. Based on Gadamer's principle of philosophical hermeneutics, The study of du Fu's poems translated by Kenneth Rexroth (Wang Honggong) focuses on the analysis of the transformation of du Fu's image in his translation. In his translated poems, the Confucian color of the original poem is greatly weakened and du Fu's yearning for seclusion is emphasized. Du Fu's translation shows that du Fu is more a hermit who chooses to melt and forget himself in the natural landscape than a Confucian who is worried about the country and worries about the people. And how to view this change from the perspective of philosophical hermeneutics. Through the study of du Fu's poems translated by Rexroth, this paper aims to demonstrate that philosophical hermeneutics has not only brought new enlightenment to translation studies in theory. It also provides a new theoretical perspective for the comparison between the translation and the original text. It is hoped that this article will draw more attention to the translation studies of du Fu, a great poet, and to Kenneth Rex, who. The interest of British and American translators who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of Chinese classical poetry.
