委婉語是一種普遍的語言現(xiàn)象,是人類社會生活中不可或缺的一部分,它可以幫助達成交際任務(wù),維護和諧的人際關(guān)系。委婉語長久以來一直為語言學(xué)家和學(xué)者所關(guān)注。他們從不同的角度對委婉語的研究做出了巨大的貢獻。然而,在現(xiàn)有的研究中,對使用在外交場合尤其是記者招待會語境中的外交委婉語的研究還比較少。本文在前人研究的基礎(chǔ)上,采用比較法,主要從語言構(gòu)成和語用功能方面,對從中國外交部官網(wǎng)和美國國務(wù)院官網(wǎng)選取的22篇英漢記者招待會文本中的委婉語進行分析。在語言構(gòu)成方面,本文對英漢外交委婉語進行了詳細的對比分析;在語用功能方面,本文以禮貌原則和合作原則為切入點,對英漢外交委婉語進行了深度的語用分析,以探索此類語篇中使用外交委婉語來違反或者實施合作原則和禮貌原則的規(guī)律,試圖發(fā)現(xiàn)外交委婉語的交際意圖。通過分析本研究發(fā)現(xiàn),在語言構(gòu)成方面,英漢委婉語有著共同之處,但是受不同文化的影響,兩者也存在不同點;在語用功能方面,本文以禮貌原則和合作原則為切入點,對英漢外交委婉語的作用進行了分析。在語用功能方面,作者發(fā)現(xiàn),委婉語在違背合作原則的同時又遵循著禮貌原則,以達到掩蓋事實,為自己的行為辯護和表示禮貌的目的。本文通過對英漢外...
