及物性與語篇建構—系統(tǒng)功能語法視角

【摘要】:系統(tǒng)功能語法將語言視為一個包括語義、詞匯語法和音系/字系的多層次系統(tǒng),各層次之間依次存在體現(xiàn)關系,即語義由詞匯語法體現(xiàn),詞匯語法由音系/字系體現(xiàn)。因此,本研究認為作為語義單位的語篇也是由諸如及物性、語氣和主述位等詞匯語法資源體現(xiàn)的。但是,目前為止,學術界還沒有完善系統(tǒng)的研究探討作為語義單位的語篇是如何由詞匯語法資源實現(xiàn)的。有鑒于此,本文擬基于語言的體現(xiàn)原則,探究詞匯語法,尤其是及物性系統(tǒng),與語篇建構的關系。 本研究的首要任務是對“語篇建構”這一概念進行理論描述和定義。在系統(tǒng)功能語法看來,語篇是對語言系統(tǒng)意義潛勢示例和體現(xiàn)的結果,是概念意義、人際意義和語篇意義的載體;語篇建構要求說話人根據(jù)有關的語境因素從語言系統(tǒng)所提供的各種意義潛勢中做出選擇,并通過恰當?shù)脑~匯語法資源將之實例化。本研究據(jù)此將語篇建構定義為是由詞匯語法手段實現(xiàn)的概念意義、人際意義和語篇意義三位一體的動態(tài)的語義體現(xiàn)過程。在對語篇建構這一語義建構過程的理論描述基礎之上,本文從語篇語義視角,根據(jù)詞匯語法和語篇語義之間存在的體現(xiàn)關系,著重探討及物性系統(tǒng)的語篇建構功能。 本研究認為,及物性在將語言系統(tǒng)意義潛勢實例化為語篇的過程中扮演著重要角色。在體現(xiàn)語篇語義的過程中,及物性不僅能夠體現(xiàn)概念意義,它還具有體現(xiàn)人際意義和語篇意義的潛勢。具體地說,及物性的語篇建構功能主要體現(xiàn)在以下三個方面:1)及物性是對經驗的識解,把現(xiàn)實世界中的經驗建構在語篇中,體現(xiàn)概念意義;2)及物性系統(tǒng)與語氣系統(tǒng)相互作用,同時作為一種語篇評價資源,使得及物性具有建構人際意義的潛勢;3)及物性與主位結構密切聯(lián)系,同時及物性過程參與者的選擇也與語篇的銜接密切相關,參與者追蹤有助于確立語篇銜接鏈,因而它也具有建構語篇意義的潛勢。 通過實例分析,本研究發(fā)現(xiàn)及物性在語篇各個語義分支建構過程中起著至關重要的作用,它不僅能夠建構概念意義,它還同時具有建構人際意義和語篇意義的潛勢。最后,本文構擬出了及物性與語篇建構的關系示意圖,以揭示及物性在語篇建構中的重要意義:
[Abstract]:The system functional grammar regards language as a multi-level system which includes semantics, lexical grammar and phonology / character system, in turn, there exists the embodiment relation among the different levels, that is, semantic is embodied by lexical grammar and lexical grammar by phonology / character system. Therefore, the present study holds that discourse as a semantic unit is also reflected by lexical and grammatical resources such as transitivity, mood and theme. However, up to now, there has been no systematic research into how discourse, as a semantic unit, is realized by lexical and grammatical resources. In view of this, this thesis intends to explore the relationship between lexical grammar, especially the transitivity system, and discourse construction based on the principles of language. The primary task of this study is to theoretically describe and define the concept of "discourse construction". From the perspective of systemic functional grammar, discourse is the result of examples and embodiments of the potential of systematic meaning in language, and it is the carrier of conceptual meaning, interpersonal meaning and textual meaning. Discourse construction requires the speaker to choose from the various meanings offered by the language system according to the relevant contextual factors and to instantiate them through appropriate lexical and grammatical resources. According to the present study, discourse construction is defined as a dynamic semantic representation process in which conceptual meaning, interpersonal meaning and textual meaning are realized by lexical and grammatical means. Based on the theoretical description of the process of discourse construction, this paper, from the perspective of discourse semantics, analyzes the relationship between lexical grammar and discourse semantics. The present study argues that transitivity plays an important role in the process of instantiating the meaning potential of a language system into a discourse. In the process of embodying textual semantics, transitivity can not only embody conceptual meaning, but also embody the potential of interpersonal meaning and textual meaning. Specifically, the textual construction function of transitivity is mainly embodied in the following three aspects: 1) and transitivity is the interpretation of experience, which constructs the experience in the real world in the discourse, and embodies the conceptual meaning 2) and the interaction between the transitivity system and the mood system. As a discourse evaluation resource, transitivity has the potential to construct interpersonal meaning, and the transitivity is closely related to the thematic structure, and the choice of the participants in the transitivity process is also closely related to the cohesion of the discourse. Participant tracing helps to establish the cohesion chain of a text, so it also has the potential to construct the meaning of a text. Through the case study, this study finds that transitivity plays an important role in the construction of each semantic branch of the text. It not only can construct conceptual meaning, but also has the potential to construct interpersonal meaning and textual meaning. Finally, the thesis draws up a schematic diagram of the relationship between transitivity and discourse construction in order to reveal the significance of transitivity in discourse construction.
