概念隱喻理論視角下英漢情感隱喻的對比研究

【摘要】:學者們過去認為隱喻只是一種修辭方式,而1980年由著名學者萊考夫和約翰遜出版的《我們賴以生存的隱喻》加速了對隱喻的研究。萊考夫和約翰遜認為隱喻不僅僅是一種修辭手段,而且是一種重要的認知工具,對我們創(chuàng)造及理解思維和語言起了重要的作用。隱喻普遍存在于我們的日常生活中。它不僅存在于語言中,而且存在于行動和思想中。隱喻有源域,目標域和從源域到目標域的映射,人們可以通過源域理解目標域。 情感被認為是人類最普遍,最基本的人生體驗。人類的情感是抽象的,他們常常通過隱喻和轉(zhuǎn)喻來表達。學者對情感隱喻的研究主要集中在快樂、悲傷、憤怒、愛等等。而驕傲、驚訝、恐懼和焦慮這四種情感的研究卻很少得到關(guān)注。因此本文著重研究驕傲、驚訝、恐懼和焦慮這四種情感在英漢語中的隱喻表達的異同。此項研究對跨文化交際和語言教學有一定的意義。 萊考夫和約翰遜提出著名的概念隱喻理論,這個理論對我們進一步研究隱喻是非常重要的。本論文在吸取中外隱喻研究成果的基礎(chǔ)上,充分運用概念隱喻理論,從認知角度對英漢情感隱喻進行了對比分析。本文由五大部分組成,作者首先介紹了論文的研究目的和意義,之后回顧了國內(nèi)外英漢隱喻及情感隱喻研究的概況和現(xiàn)狀,并且總結(jié)評論了隱喻和情感隱喻在國內(nèi)外的發(fā)展,運用概念隱喻理論詳細分析了它的種類、特征、經(jīng)驗基礎(chǔ)、工作機制。通過對大量英漢語料的分析,著重探究驕傲、驚訝、恐懼和焦慮這四種情感在英漢語中的隱喻表達的異同,并且探究了造成這些共性和個性的原因。作者將情感隱喻的普遍性歸因于人類自身體驗的普遍性及認知共性,而地理環(huán)境、自然環(huán)境、風俗習慣等文化差異又導致了我們對情感隱喻的理解自然是不同的。 這篇論文以驕傲隱喻,焦慮隱喻,恐懼隱喻和驚訝隱喻為例從概念隱喻理論視角對英漢語言中的情感隱喻進行了對比研究,分析了情感隱喻的異同及異同原因。由于客觀條件的限制和作者的能力有限,本文對英漢情感隱喻的對比研究還不夠深入,這一領(lǐng)域值得我們進一步研究。
[Abstract]:Scholars used to think that metaphor is only a rhetorical device, but in 1980, the famous scholars Lakoff and Johnson published metaphor for our Survival, which accelerated the study of metaphor. Lakoff and Johnson believe that metaphor is not only a rhetorical device, but also an important cognitive tool, which plays an important role in the creation and understanding of thinking and language. Metaphors prevail in our daily lives. It exists not only in language, but also in action and thought. The mapping of active domain, target domain and source domain to target domain can be understood by source domain. Emotion is regarded as the most common and basic experience of human life. Human emotions are abstract and often expressed through metaphor and metonymy. Scholars' researches on affective metaphor mainly focus on happiness, sadness, anger, love and so on. However, pride, surprise, fear and anxiety have received little attention. Therefore, this paper focuses on the similarities and differences of the metaphorical expressions of pride, surprise, fear and anxiety in English and Chinese. This study has certain significance for cross-cultural communication and language teaching. Lakoff and Johnson put forward the famous conceptual metaphor theory, which is very important for us to study metaphor further. On the basis of absorbing the research results of Chinese and English metaphors, this thesis makes a comparative analysis of affective metaphors in English and Chinese from the cognitive perspective by using the theory of conceptual metaphor. This thesis is composed of five parts. The author first introduces the purpose and significance of the thesis, then reviews the general situation and present situation of English and Chinese metaphor and affective metaphor, and summarizes and comments on the development of metaphor and affective metaphor at home and abroad. In this paper, conceptual metaphor theory is used to analyze its category, characteristics, empirical basis and working mechanism in detail. Through the analysis of a large number of English and Chinese data, this paper focuses on the similarities and differences of the metaphorical expressions of pride, surprise, fear and anxiety in English and Chinese, and probes into the causes of these commonalities and individuality. The author ascribes the universality of emotional metaphor to the universality and cognitive commonness of human's own experience, while the cultural differences of geographical environment, natural environment, customs and habits lead to different understanding of emotional metaphor. This paper makes a comparative study of affective metaphors in English and Chinese from the perspective of conceptual metaphor, taking pride metaphor, anxiety metaphor, fear metaphor and surprise metaphor as examples, and analyzes the similarities and differences of affective metaphors and their causes. Due to the limitation of objective conditions and the limited ability of the author, the contrastive study of affective metaphor in English and Chinese is not deep enough, and this field is worthy of further study.
