本篇翻譯報告原文節(jié)選自安德魯·埃塞克斯(Andrew Essex)所著的《廣告的終結(jié):必死之因及重生之道》(The End of Advertising:Why It Had to Die,and the Creative Resurrection to Come)。該書討論了互聯(lián)網(wǎng)如何導致傳統(tǒng)廣告業(yè)逐漸走向滅亡,以及廣告業(yè)又能如何通過創(chuàng)新獲得新生。根據(jù)紐馬克的文本類型理論,原文主要屬于信息型文本。因此,在交際翻譯理論的指導下,譯者打破原文語言形式的束縛,以讀者為導向,排除讀者閱讀及交際上的困難和障礙,力求譯文通俗易懂,滿足讀者對可讀性的需求。本報告分為五章:第一章對翻譯項目進行整體描述,闡述其背景及意義;第二章對原文的作者及主要內(nèi)容進行介紹,并對原文的詞匯特點進行分析;第三章對本報告運用的翻譯理論——交際翻譯理論及其在報告中的運用進行介紹;第四章主要聚焦原文的最大特點——俚語,分別從俚語的定義及特點、俚語翻譯的難點以及翻譯技巧幾方面進行探討,重點關(guān)注俚語翻譯中的難點及重點;第五章為結(jié)論,總結(jié)翻譯項目的啟示及未解決的難點。
