【摘要】：本研究基于語料庫,采用對比分析的方法研究時態(tài)的使用及功能(交際目的)。摘要分別選自2008-2009年國內外影響因子較高的期刊,涉及物理學、語言學和經濟學三個學科,共432篇摘要。作者自建六個語料庫并輔以手工標注,包括期刊名,摘要編號,時態(tài),及句子號碼。其中,216篇摘要選自中國期刊,216篇摘要選自國際期刊,每門學科72篇。卡方檢驗國內外時態(tài)使用是否存在顯著差異,WordSmith 4.0提取索引行。本研究的主要發(fā)現(xiàn)為: 在物理學科,國內英語學者比英語本族語者更多使用一般過去時。英語本族語者更加有意識的使用一般過去時來描述和評價研究本身。而國內英語學者更多使用一般過去時來介紹論文本身。完成態(tài)在國際物理摘要語料庫中出現(xiàn)頻次更多,而進行態(tài)在國內物理摘要語料庫中出現(xiàn)頻次更多。通過研究特定的主語與動詞各種時態(tài)形式的搭配,我們發(fā)現(xiàn)英語本族語者以研究本身為導向,更加擅長講述研究經歷。在語言學學科,英語本族語者更多使用一般過去時,而國內英語學者更多使用一般現(xiàn)在時和一般將來時。在國際語言學摘要語料庫中,一般過去時被更多的用在描述研究方法和呈現(xiàn)研究話題本身,以強化發(fā)生在過去的實驗過程,這表明英語本族語者更加在意實驗手法的時間定位。一般現(xiàn)在時在國際語言學摘要語料庫中被更多的用來陳述研究和描述語言事實;而在國內語言學摘要語料庫中被更多的用來總結研究結果。在經濟學學科,英語本族語者大體上傾向于使用一般現(xiàn)在時,而國內英語學者使用時態(tài)更趨多樣化。后者傾向于在開頭用現(xiàn)在完成時描述研究背景。國內英語學者比英語本族語者的預測性更強,大概源于中國一些經濟現(xiàn)象的可預測性,很多中國學者對中國將來的經濟發(fā)展持樂觀態(tài)度。從三個學科總體看,國內英語學者比英語本族語者更多使用現(xiàn)在完成時、現(xiàn)在進行時和一般將來時;而英語本族語者相對較多使用一般過去時和過去完成時。國內摘要和國外摘要中時態(tài)的分布都呈現(xiàn)如下規(guī)律:現(xiàn)在完成時多用于摘要的前部,一般現(xiàn)在時和一般過去時多用于摘要的中部,一般將來時多用于摘要的后部。國外摘要中情態(tài)動詞can和may被較多的用來呈現(xiàn)結果和提供啟示,表明英語本族語者在展示成果時更加靈活和審慎。分析could, might和would的索引行,我們發(fā)現(xiàn)它們的功能在國際摘要語料庫中更趨多樣化也更為復雜。此外,三個學科中經濟學期刊摘要的時態(tài)轉換最為顯著。造成時態(tài)使用差異的原因可歸結為:研究話題、語言能力和語言遷移、寫作策略和文化差異。本研究旨在為摘要中時態(tài)的使用提供一些建議。它在分析時態(tài)的跨文化性和跨學科性上是鮮明的,可以增強國內英語學者對于時態(tài)在特定學科的敏感度。本文對于增強特殊英語教學和有效地撰寫摘要有一定的指導意義。
