【摘要】：美國駐華領(lǐng)事官員與地方基督教是學(xué)術(shù)界較少涉及的研究領(lǐng)域,以往論著集中討論傳教士對美國、對華外交的影響及美外交當(dāng)局利用教案擴大在華利益等問題。上述內(nèi)容難以完全呈現(xiàn)美國駐華外交官與中國基督教發(fā)展的復(fù)雜關(guān)系。本文嘗試梳理晚清美國駐閩領(lǐng)事館檔案,分析地方基督教與外交體制相互滲透、傳教利益與外交、商務(wù)利益相互角力以及領(lǐng)事對待華人教徒的矛盾心態(tài),初步探討晚清美國駐華外交官與基督教間的互動關(guān)系。
[Abstract]:The United States consulate officials in China and the local Christianity are less involved in the academic field. Previous treatises focused on the influence of the missionaries on the United States, the diplomatic relations with China and the use of teaching cases to expand their interests in China. The above contents are difficult to fully present the complex relationship between the American diplomats and the development of Chinese Christianity. This paper tries to sort out the archives of the American Consulate in the late Qing Dynasty, and analyzes the mutual infiltration of local Christianity and diplomatic system, the mutual struggle between the interests and diplomacy of the missionary, the mutual power of business interests and the contradictory attitude of the consul on the Chinese Catholics, and preliminarily discusses the interaction between the diplomats of the United States and the Christianity in the late Qing Dynasty.
