善巧方便:當(dāng)代佛教團(tuán)體在中國(guó)城市的發(fā)展

【摘要】:基于在北京、昆明兩地獲得的田野資料,本文對(duì)當(dāng)代佛教在城市中的發(fā)展進(jìn)行了分析,聚焦于變遷與融合。在變遷方面,佛教在城市形成了新的實(shí)踐形態(tài),從傳統(tǒng)的非聚會(huì)型宗教向聚會(huì)型宗教發(fā)展;聚會(huì)地點(diǎn)不局限于寺廟,而是多藏于民居,甚至棲身寫(xiě)字樓;聚會(huì)時(shí)間也由傳統(tǒng)的初一、十五改為每周聚會(huì);甚至有學(xué)佛小組創(chuàng)辦了類似基督教主日學(xué)校的兒童讀經(jīng)班。同時(shí),佛教的傳教性格也開(kāi)始變得積極,佛教精英熟練運(yùn)用現(xiàn)代傳媒工具廣結(jié)善緣。這些變遷反應(yīng)了城市的時(shí)空環(huán)境、現(xiàn)代生活節(jié)奏以及宗教競(jìng)爭(zhēng)對(duì)佛教的形塑,同時(shí)也折射出佛教本身的柔軟身段。與這些變遷相伴而行的,是佛教團(tuán)體對(duì)一些傳統(tǒng)的堅(jiān)守,比如在度人時(shí)避免讓初學(xué)者陷入非此即彼的困境,我們將此種策略成為"漸進(jìn)性嚴(yán)格";又比如淡化排他性從而增加佛教與外部社會(huì)的融合程度。在變遷與堅(jiān)守的背后,我們隱約可見(jiàn)一致的行動(dòng)邏輯,那就是善巧方便,以適當(dāng)?shù)姆绞金堃姹娚?br/>[Abstract]:Based on the field data obtained in Beijing and Kunming, this paper analyzes the development of contemporary Buddhism in the city, focusing on the change and integration. In the aspect of change, Buddhism has formed a new practice form in the city. From the traditional non-gathering religion to the gathering religion; the gathering place is not limited to the temple, but more hiding in the folk residence, even living in the office building, the meeting time also changed from the traditional first day, 15 to the weekly gathering; There are even groups of Buddhists who have set up classes like Christian Sunday schools for children to read scriptures. At the same time, Buddhism's missionary character has also become active. The Buddhist elite is skilled in using modern media tools to form a good relationship. These changes reflect the shaping of Buddhism by the city's spatio-temporal environment, the rhythm of modern life, and religious competition. It also reflects the softness of Buddhism itself. These changes are accompanied by the adherence of Buddhist groups to traditions, such as avoiding getting beginners into the "one or the other" dilemma. We call this strategy "progressive rigour"; for example, by playing down exclusivity and thereby increasing the degree of integration of Buddhism with external society. Behind changes and adherence, we can vaguely see a consistent logic of action, that is, dexterity and convenience. To benefit all living beings in an appropriate manner.
