【摘要】：本文是汪榮祖教授對《人力車時代的北京:20世紀(jì)20年代的城市、居民與政治》(Rickshaw Beijing:City,People,and Politics in the 1920s)一書所作的書評,該書由加利福尼亞大學(xué)出版社于1989年出版,作者是史謙德(David Strand),全書共有383頁。該書中譯本由中央民族大學(xué)的袁劍翻譯,題為:《北京的人力車夫:20世紀(jì)20年代的城市、居民與政治》,并于1993年由江蘇人民出版社出版。原文刊載于《英國歷史評論》(The English Historical Review)第108卷,第428期,第763—764頁,由牛津大學(xué)出版社(Oxford University Press)于1993年7月出版。本文是汪榮祖教授在弗吉尼亞理工學(xué)院(Virginia Polytechnic Institute)擔(dān)任教授時所寫。文章短小精悍,提到了很多書中沒有涉及的問題,同時也對該書給予了很高的評價。
[Abstract]:This article is a review of Rickshaw Beijing:City,People,and Politics in the 1920s by Professor Wang Rongzu of Beijing: Beijing in the 1920s. The book was published by the University of California Press in 1989. The author of the book is (David Strand), a total of 383 pages. Translated by Yuan Jian of the Central University for nationalities, the Chinese translation of the book is entitled "Beijing's rickshaw driver: city, inhabitant and Politics in the 1920s." it was published by Jiangsu people's Publishing House in 1993. Published in British History Review, vol. 108, 428, pp. 763-764, published by (Oxford University Press), Oxford University Press, July 1993. This article was written by Professor Wang Rongzu when he was a professor at Virginia Institute of Technology (Virginia Polytechnic Institute). The article is short and short, referring to issues not covered in many books, and highly rated.
