【摘要】：1896年,李鴻章的英國之行對改善中英關(guān)系的確起到了一定的積極作用。首先,增進了英中之間的了解,加強了英國政府首腦對中國政治、經(jīng)濟的重視,加大了對華資金投放和對時政的關(guān)注。其次,李鴻章訪英促進了中英之間的貿(mào)易合作,對維護英國在華投資和貿(mào)易地位大有裨益。最后,李鴻章訪英在增加其國際影響力的同時也使其獲得了對英國實力和政策的全面信息,為中國調(diào)整對英政策起到了一定的積極作用。李鴻章盡管未能完全達到預(yù)期目的,但此行還是產(chǎn)生了諸多重要影響。
[Abstract]:In 1896, Li Hongzhang's visit to England did play a positive role in improving Sino-British relations. First of all, it has enhanced the understanding between Britain and China, strengthened the importance that British heads of government attach to Chinese politics and economy, and increased their attention to China's capital investment and current politics. Secondly, Li Hongzhang's visit to Britain has promoted trade cooperation between China and Britain, which is of great benefit to the maintenance of British investment and trade status in China. Finally, Li Hongzhang's visit to Britain not only increased his international influence, but also made him obtain a comprehensive information on British strength and policy, which played a positive role in China's adjustment of its policy towards Britain. Although Li Hongzhang did not fully achieve the desired purpose, but the trip still had a lot of important impact.
