【摘要】：美國鐵路華工研究是一個系統(tǒng)工程。研究者由于受地域文化、語言、認(rèn)知等因素的局限,往往更多地關(guān)注鐵路華工的美國"在場"研究,未能關(guān)注到華工原籍地廣東的"原鄉(xiāng)"研究,從而難以回答鐵路華工研究中必須回答的幾個問題:華工從哪里來?華工原籍地村莊狀況如何?華工和原籍地的關(guān)系如何?所以,應(yīng)加強(qiáng)華工原籍地廣東僑鄉(xiāng)、美國西部早期唐人街和廣東埠以及美國華人姓氏中英文對照等方面的研究。相應(yīng)地,鐵路華工研究中的"熱點"——跨州鐵路華工研究,應(yīng)拓寬到尚處于"冷點"的美國鐵路華工特別是西部鐵路華工群體研究上。
[Abstract]:American Railway Chinese Research is a systems engineering. Due to the limitations of regional culture, language, cognition and other factors, researchers often pay more attention to the American "presence" study of railway Chinese workers, and fail to pay attention to the "native country" study in Guangdong, where the Chinese workers come from. Therefore, it is difficult to answer several questions that must be answered in the research of railway Chinese workers: where do Chinese workers come from? What is the condition of the villages where the Chinese workers come from? What is the relationship between Chinese workers and their place of origin? Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the research on the hometown of overseas Chinese in Guangdong, the early Chinatown and Guangdong port in the western United States, and the Chinese-American surnames in both Chinese and English. Accordingly, the "hot spot" in the research of railway Chinese workers should be extended to the American railway Chinese workers, especially the western railway Chinese workers, who are still in the "cold spot".
