[Abstract]:Since the middle of the 18th century, the British industrial revolution has made a tremendous progress in the roar of big machines, its economic strength has never been increased, and the economic structure has correspondingly changed. The mercantilism theory and its influence on the economic base of imperial policy were seriously eroded and destroyed. The signing of the Treaty of Peace in Paris in 1783 and the formal recognition by Britain of the independence of the United States marked the disintegration of the first British Empire.
