【摘要】：20世紀(jì)上半葉的英國優(yōu)生運(yùn)動是中上層階級以優(yōu)生學(xué)名義解決人口、經(jīng)濟(jì)與社會問題的一種嘗試。優(yōu)生學(xué)者試圖通過宣傳優(yōu)生知識,推動優(yōu)生立法,提高中上層階級生育率,降低社會"不適者"生育率,進(jìn)而增強(qiáng)英吉利民族的國民效率。雖然優(yōu)生運(yùn)動在英國最終失敗,但它對英國中上層階級的思維方式、社會政策以及福利國家建設(shè)產(chǎn)生重要影響。
[Abstract]:The eugenics movement in the first half of the 20th century was an attempt by the upper and middle class to solve population, economic and social problems in the name of eugenics. Eugenics scholars try to propagate eugenics knowledge, promote eugenic legislation, raise the fertility rate of the upper and middle class, reduce the fertility rate of the "unwell" in the society, and then enhance the national efficiency of the English nation. Although the eugenics movement ultimately failed in England, it had an important impact on the way of thinking of the upper and middle classes, social policy and the construction of a welfare state.
