[Abstract]:On 1845, when the property right system based on the "British Book" naturally derived from the British law as the core of the Community, Gong Mu-chiu and British Consul Bafur signed the "Shanghai Rent Charter" and Land Regulation. The principle of "not harassing residents" was taken into account by the Palace Road platform. He did not agree that the British people should live in the city, but only agreed to circle a beach near the Huangpu River to the north of the county town far from the bustling center of the city, which in his opinion did not have much economic value. His intention was obvious: to allow foreigners to live outside the city. In order to seek "peace between China and foreign countries," Ye Mingchen launched the "struggle against Britain and businessmen into the city" by the gentry and the people of Guangzhou.
