從偉大社會(huì)轉(zhuǎn)變?yōu)閭ゴ蠊餐w:約翰·杜威對(duì)民主的生活方式的構(gòu)建

約翰·杜威,美國哲學(xué)家,教育家,社會(huì)批評(píng)家,政治活動(dòng)家,心理學(xué)家,實(shí)用主義哲學(xué)創(chuàng)始人,因其推動(dòng)進(jìn)步主義民主思想而廣受贊譽(yù)。杜威著作卷帙浩繁,他對(duì)于民主思想的論述散落其中。盡管杜威寫作背景是二十世紀(jì)的美國,但是對(duì)于當(dāng)代社會(huì),他的民主思想依然具有重要的啟迪意義。很多杜威研究學(xué)者在自己的著述或文章中對(duì)“偉大共同體”這個(gè)概念都有提及,但是對(duì)于共同體的系統(tǒng)闡釋卻鮮有學(xué)者提出。杜威“偉大共同體”這一概念的研究還可以進(jìn)一步深入。基于現(xiàn)存的杜威研究文獻(xiàn),本文旨在詳細(xì)論述杜威“偉大共同體”這一概念以及實(shí)現(xiàn)“偉大共同體”所必需的條件。本文主要采用文本分析的研究方法,解讀杜威政治哲學(xué)和社會(huì)哲學(xué)的中期和晚期作品。對(duì)于哲學(xué)作品文本的詳細(xì)解讀使作者發(fā)現(xiàn)杜威想要建構(gòu)的共同體的三個(gè)主要特征為:參與式民主、自下而上地組織社會(huì)、多樣性。杜威鼓勵(lì)公民積極參與公共事務(wù)以保證公共決策能夠代表眾人的意見。自下而上的組織方向包括兩個(gè)方面:教育和自治。教育的作用在于使得公民通曉并掌握制定決策所必需的技能。自治是公民內(nèi)在的權(quán)利。杜威認(rèn)為,多樣性能增進(jìn)社會(huì)穩(wěn)定。允許更多的意見觀點(diǎn)在社會(huì)中流通有益于糾紛和沖突的解決。探究和交流,是實(shí)現(xiàn)“偉...
