    日本國家石油儲備基地中3座大型地下水封石油洞庫之一。位于日本南九州鹿兒島西部串木野。地下水封石油洞庫是第二次世界大戰(zhàn)以后逐步發(fā)展起來的一種新型儲油設(shè)施。它是在穩(wěn)定的地下水位以下的巖層中開挖未經(jīng)被覆的洞穴用來儲油。由于洞穴處于地下水的靜壓力的包圍之中，，少量地下水可以通過巖石裂隙滲入洞穴，從而有效地防止洞內(nèi)油氣外逸。串木野地下水封石油洞庫由10條儲油巷道組成3個(gè)貯油單元：第一單元由2條巷道組成，貯油35萬立方米；第二、三單元各有4條儲油巷道，每單元分別貯油70萬立方米。儲油巷道洞底標(biāo)高為－42米。油庫總?cè)萘?75萬立方米。地面占地5公頃，地下占地26公頃。另外還建有10萬噸級單點(diǎn)系泊式油碼頭一座，用以進(jìn)行收發(fā)油作業(yè)。整個(gè)油庫實(shí)行自動(dòng)控制，地下無人值守。
