regional gravity anomaly 由埋藏較深、分布范圍較廣的區(qū)域地質因素所引起的重力異常稱為區(qū)域重力異常。異常特點是分布范圍廣、重力變化梯度小。區(qū)域重力異常是研究區(qū)域地質構造、劃分大地構造單元的重要資料。這里的“區(qū)域”一詞，沒有絕對大小的概念。如為了尋找儲油構造，整個沉積岔地所產(chǎn)生的重力異常稱為區(qū)域異常，如果為了在儲油構造上直接勘探油氣，則相對油氣層引起的重力異常來說，儲油構造所引起的重力異常就是區(qū)域異常。
