【摘要】：正近幾十年來,越來越多的人致力于社區(qū)的宜居與可持續(xù)發(fā)展。2009年,美國聯(lián)邦政府宣布了住宅和城市發(fā)展部((HUD)與環(huán)境保護署(EPA)、交通部(DOT)之間史無前例的跨機構合作,提供促進長期的可持續(xù)社區(qū)住宅、交通和環(huán)境的聯(lián)邦投資。聯(lián)邦可持續(xù)社區(qū)合作伙伴關系為社區(qū)提供了具有競爭力的資助,僅僅在2010年就下?lián)芰?億美金授予支持整合住宅、土地使用、交通以及經濟和勞動力發(fā)展的區(qū)域規(guī)劃工作。密西西比灣沿岸地區(qū)是第一批享受聯(lián)邦政府通過特定宜居導則來實現(xiàn)長期可持續(xù)發(fā)展規(guī)劃的跨機構合作的區(qū)域。同樣,該地區(qū)也是第一批在聯(lián)邦項目背景下調和宜居性和可持續(xù)性實踐的區(qū)域。
