[Abstract]:This paper discusses the relationship between foundation and innovation in the teaching of colleges and universities in China. Some people think that paying attention to basic education will make students fall into a "paradigm trap", thus constraining innovation. This view seems to start from Kuhn's "paradigm" concept, but actually runs counter to Kuhn's thought. Even according to Kuhn's idea, innovation should be based on the old discipline paradigm, which is the transcendence and breakthrough of the old paradigm, so there is no "paradigm trap". This paper points out that Kuhn's concept of scientific revolution still has serious defects, that is, he examines scientific progress purely from the viewpoint of theory, completely neglecting the "productive forces" function played by scientific tools and technology in scientific progress. This paper defines the "foundation" of colleges and universities, which includes the professional foundation and the overall quality of human beings, and the foundation is the basis of keeping pace with the times and the foundation of innovation. Finally, the article puts forward four principles on how to promote innovation in basic teaching.
