[Abstract]:Although the history of China's oceans can be traced back to a long time ago, the study of Chinese marine history began in the 1990s. The Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zhongshan, Taiwan's Academia Sinica, began to carry out a research project on the history of China's marine history in 1983, which opened the prelude to the study of China's marine history. In 1996, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea entered into force in China.
