【摘要】
《萬(wàn)國(guó)公法》是譯成中文的第一本西方國(guó)際法學(xué)著作 ,現(xiàn)在能見(jiàn)到的最早版本是同治三年 (1 86 4)京都崇實(shí)館本。該書(shū)首次將近代國(guó)際法的基本原則、思想觀念以及概念術(shù)語(yǔ)帶入中國(guó) ,對(duì)中國(guó)學(xué)術(shù)界產(chǎn)生了巨大的啟蒙作用 ,直接促進(jìn)了清末中國(guó)近代國(guó)際法學(xué)的誕生。

【英文摘要】
Elements of International Law was the first western work on international law translated into Chinese language. The earliest edition existing today is the one published by Chongshi Publishing House in 1964. This book, for the first time in history, introduced to China basic principles, ideas, concepts and terminology of modern international law. It played an important role in enlightenment of Chinese academic circle and contributed directly to the birth of modern international law in China.
